Age limit
Minimum age for riding a motorcycle in the Netherlands with a UK licence
is 18 years old.
Crash Helmets
Compulsory for both rider and pillion for all
motorcycles which can exceed 25km/h..
Drinking
Alcohol - 0.05 limit. A lower limit
applies to new drivers (for the first five years) and moped riders up to
the age of 24. This lower limit is 0.02 percent.
Fines
On the spot fines charged. If you are illegally parked,
you may be fined or towed.
Fuel
Leaded petrol is not available.
Lights
Use of dipped headlights during the day is advised,
though not compulsory. It is probhibted to drive only on side lights at
night.
Motorcycle Insurance
3rd party compulsory.
Speed Limits
Unless otherwise signposted. In built up areas 31mph
(50km/h), other areas between 49mph (80km/h) and on motorways up to 74mph (120k/h).
No minimum speed on motorways.
