The Reading Rooms is a 4 star 'home from home' B&B. Each ensuite room is large, equipped with TV, tea and coffee facilities and comfy beds. You are assured a warm welcome with good quality locally produced food. We have secure, off street parking for your bike and car parking if your bike is brought on a trailer. Haydon Bridge is a small village on the South Tyne where you will find a warm welcome at any of the three pubs. We would recommend The General Haverlock for meals, The Railway for snacks and an excellent pint. (we also boast a fish and chip shop and an Indian Take-away)
There is a bank with ATM, chemist and general store open 8am-10pm.

The Reading Rooms is situated at the very start of the A686 route over the Hartside Pass. Stop at the Hartside Cafe and then drive on to Penrith.

We are only 4 miles from Hadrians Wall, take the Military Road west and explore Roman England before heading north west to Gretna and beyond.

Brian and Gill, bike enthusiasts themselves, can advise on several other routes from the B&B with excellent lunch stops or take one of Gill's substantial packed lunches.

Places all within easy touring- Lake Districk, Solway Firth, Northumberland Coast with all castles, Yorkshire Dales, Dumfries and Galloway.
